ETNA - WHERE COMMUNITY MATTERS

Etna Economic Development Corporation

explore - experience - enjoy

The Etna Economic Development Corporation (EEDC) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to the revitalization of Etna’s business district and supporting the Etna business community.

We're sure those of you who have lived and worked in this town share our concern for its future. We, of the Etna Economic Development Corporation, wanted to take this opportunity to share with you, the shareholders of Etna's prosperity, some of our vision of our town. Our hopes and dreams are for an Etna community that is vibrant, economically healthy, environmentally friendly and, in short, a wonderful place to live and work. A number of local business people and residents are working diligently behind the scenes to move the community in this direction, but WE NEED YOUR HELP.

We realize our Etna business community does not offer every product or service to meet every possible need. We do, however, believe that the businesses in the community provide many of the essentials of everyday life, and, in some instances, much more.

The vitality of our business community plays a major role in the quality of the community at large. Police and fire departments, road crews, recreational areas, and activities such as Light the Night, summer concerts, street fairs, local government programs, education for our youth, environmental initiatives and much more, are dependent on the tax revenues collected from the local business community.

With this in mind, we ask you, the residents of Etna, to do what you can to patronize your local businesses. So doing will help ensure the long-term vitality of the community we call home.

Mission Statement

To maintain a high integrity in the effort of identifying, organizing and implementing projects of civil and commercial importance for the revitalization of the Borough of Etna.

Sign Grant

The EEDC has implemented a pilot program to encourage downtown business proprietors to participate in energizing the Central Business District with new and well-designed business signage and lighting. The program has been structured to make it simple to apply for, and the EEDC has infused $5,000 in funding for the initiative.  Business owners in the CBD can apply for up to $700 for signage or a lettered awning, up to $500 for signage lighting, or up to $1200 for a lighted sign. All eligible applicants are encouraged to apply early, as funds for this program are limited and will be awarded (if approved) on a first-come/first-served basis with preference given to EEDC Members. If you have any questions about this grant opportunity, please contact Talia at 412-781-0569.

Facade Grant

Open to all business owners in Etna, the Façade Grant Program offers the opportunity for business owners to receive dollar-for-dollar matching funds (with a maximum award of $3,500) towards restoration and improvements to their building façades.  The Application period opens each spring with a deadline of May 31st.  For more information, please contact Talia at 412-781-0569.
